It looks like the GT may have a starter problem. I will be digging into it to find out for sure, but initial indicators are that it needs to be replaced. Has anyone tried a high torque starter? What

I tried one on the V8 for a while and IMHO it is one of the few upgrades that are really worth it. The first time I cranked after fitting it I thought it was just spinning and not engaging, it was so

I used one on my rally car. It died after substantial abuse, but would probably last years on a street car. I had to use it to start the car in gear at an event after major clutch hydraulic problems,

I can confirm that. The two US manufacturers of these British gear reduction starters buy pallets of remanufactured starters from Japan and add their own new adaptor plates to suit each LBC model. T

Since replacement conventional starters are frequently rebuilt units (hence the exchange requirement) I don't think that is necessarily anything to worry about, one assumes you are getting some kind
