I've always wondered about lubing the starter. I never heard of anyone their starter, but there's plenty of mechanism there to wear and rust. Would it be a good idea to hose it down with WD40, follow

When they were current the recommendationwas that they shoul never be lubricated because that picked up dirt and they jammed again. Mine started sticking, so I scrupulously cleaned and degreased it -
