I had a Subaru for 6 years with the EJ18 engine (same as the EJ22, just debored and destroked). I am pretty sure that it's too wide for a Midget. It's way wider than the Midget engine even with carbs

The only rear wheel drive model I am aware of is the Subaru 360. I don't think anyone would want to put THAT motor in a Spridget....... I may be mistaken (yeah, right, like that's ever happened<grin>
