When the wipers come on is it proceeded by a sharp discharge indication on the ammeter and do the wipers do a single wipe and stop? If so then the dash switch is obviously an original "Clear Hooters"

I would strongly suggest you get a copy of Dan Master's TR250 and TR6 electrical maintenance book. It is very well written and perfect for a beginner like me. Makes me feel competent. TRF sells them.

For a TR250 it would be a Clear Hooters switch. As I recall they are slightly smaller than the later Lucas switch. If you are real careful you can take them apart and clean up the corrosion, then it
