I need some help! My tach stopped working the other day when I had my car out. It just slowly went dead as I was driving. How best do I determine if it's the cable or the tach, or something else? Dan

Dan--Disconnect the tach cable at the distributor drive, and connect the inner cable to a drill motor. Watch the tach needle as you spin the drill motor (in the right direction) This will at least te

Dan--I left out step #1. Disconnect the tach cable knurled nut behind the tach and pull it out a few inches. Carefully lower it to a working position and pull it all the way out of its outer sheath.
