I've read on a number of occasions that the front of the timing cover on a 3A should have some type of sound deadening material to be 'correct'. Any suggestions as what it is, or what to use. I've re

IMO, that stuff was only applied to later cars. I've disassembled a lot of original TR3As, none of them had any signs of it. You can't believe everything you read in a Moss catalog <g> Randall TS397
