Hi All, Wow, you don't just run to the parts store and get timing chains for a roadster. The only part that I do not have is the broken lower chain guide. What are the chances of finding one? Fingers

Don't bother. You're better off not replacing it. They are notorious for breaking off, and there is a chance it could get caught in the gear and cause $$ damage. Besides, AFAIK there has been no evid

I had a long discussion with Mike Kerr on the subject. He suggested that the lower guide does help keep the lower chain controlled. I left it out when I first rebuilt my 2L. When I pulled it apart -

I think Dick Tillinger still makes a set of tensioner shims, but he doesn't have a Web site, so that makes it a little tougher. Do any of the vendors stock these? Vendors, that's your cue. -- Gordon
