- Yup, Flaming River (streetrod supplier) makes one that works on "D" cell batteries, independant of the car power sytem. I use mine all the time on 6 volt positive (Ford flathead and 30 Chevy) as well

- Hi, Dallas-- yes, or to the solenoid for starter, but one reason I love my Flaming river is --ONE cord to spark plug wire, instead of three to fool with, or get tangled, or to ground out when connect
