In regard to dipping and powder coating a good solution is to have the body blasted with crushed walnut shells and for rust, soda. Moonstone

Mike brought out clearly the seepage of chemicals after. NO amount of washing, rinsing will ever get it gone. Too many hidden openings in a unit body. As for powder coating. Heats required to powder

I would have to take a contrary view. I have sand blasted two rusty Tigers and no matter how much sand , beads, walnuts, magic dust, or whatever, you cannot get all the places you would like to clean

You may want to consult with Doug Jennings, the owner of Tiger Auto Service in Dayton OH. He has restored many Tigers and has dipped them all. I don't ever recall him mentioning having paint problems

I had my car media blasted, and another owner in the area has his dipped. Same body man on both cars. There are plus and minus to both, but the most important thing is the person doing it as usual. S

The biggest problem with powder coating a car is the deformation from too high a press and the wrong media. Heat can be a problem but can be reduced to lower temps. Powder coating on a who;e is not s

We can dip cars at our plant but have found the results less than desirable over the long haul. Our most successful process use dry soda. We never use sand. We have several other medias that are good
