The 3173 is listed in the Haynes ZS manual as 68/69 TR250 175CD-2SE emission carb. I always thought the F and R meant Front and Rear, but according to the manual, some TR6 carbs are labled R and L. D

My original and untouched TR250 carbs have the wire seal but the seal is lead is bonded to the wire and simply says Zenith. No numbers. All my other carbs have brass tags ab say either 3337 or 3385 b

Are you sure it's Posidrive and not Torx ? Sounds like a Torx 'tamper resistant' fastener to me. Appropriate bits are available at most tool supply places. Randall

Looks like Phillips to me. Looks like Phillips to Nelson too but he says (hints maybe) that they are posidrive (at Buckeye). I see lots of them a little screwed up so maybe they are not really Philli
