In a word, NO! In many words per Haynes "The cylinder head is longer with the outlets to the radiator and heater at different angles. There are larger inlet and exhaust valves." Sorry to be the bear

Yes it will likely fit, but why...?? I read the link text, but this is a false economy. A major factor in engine performance is the breathing capability, and the biggest improvements can be made wit

According to Kent, it won't fit. But, the point was not for performance or improvment, just trying to use the parts that I have to get engine put together quick and put on the road. The 1098 block/12

You can go the other way 1098 block/ 1275 head, so I don't see why not. My question would be which head gasket to use. When moving up you use the gasket for the new head, I don't think that would be

But it seemed like the only complaint about the 1275 head was that it didn't have a no lead conversion. It seems like it's the concensus of the list that running no lead is no problem anyway. Slap it

I've been off the list for a while, didn't realize that unleaded isn't as big a problem as some part supplies would indicate.... Lead in a can didn't even register..... I'll head to Pep Boys tonight

I'm not convinced that "No" is the correct answer. The inlet issue can be worked around with differnet outlets, and a 1098 head would have smaller valves than a 1275. There IS I believe valve cleara

Most 1275s were lead free heads to begin with. Why worry about lead in a can. As a previous lister said, slap it on and run it. Combustion chamber size in a 1098 is 28.3cc Combustion chamber size in

Hi Geoff, To the best of my knowledge, all the US 1275 engines had lead free heads except for the first year or two. I've got a 1275 with the standard seats that has about 300K on it with no problems

I just swapped an early 1275 for a later 1275. The early one had the heater and rad outlets similar to a 1098 and they can be easily turned around. I unbolted the ones on the later 1275 and bolted on
