I've got a 48 spoke wire spare in the trunk. Fits fine with the original tire size, but won't with the tires I've got on the car now. I keep a few 48 painted spoke wires with wheels around as spares.

IMO the 48 spoke wheels are adequate, if you only put stock tires on them, don't drive hard, and do periodically lube the splines and tighten/true/replace the spokes. If you are planning on running
