It's the same as motorcycle wheels. I always replace the rim band. Then, be careful using the tire irons, i have pinched a hole in the tube with one before. Jan

They do need to be "wrapped" inside and maybe your old wrapping is exposing some sharp objects? Hmmmmm. Are these flats happening on different tires? Paul
