It's not the easiest job, but I always have success with some form of silicone, such as Armorall, or tire dressing. Make sure the channel is clean and there is nothing remaining from the old rubber

Wow $35 sounds really great. I ended up doing it myself, because every windshield shop I took it too quoted me $150+ dollars. And the frame was off the car, clean, and I was supplying all new parts.

Tried that... ONCE... myself. Busted the windscreen. Paid $10 to have the second one put in by an auto glass shop. Money well spent, lesson expensively learned! WFO Herb Keep the sticky side down!
