Cranking but not firing, I presume? A 79 doesn't need the tach (or any electric gauge) connected for the engine to run, that arrangement stopped in about 72. However if the white/black that connects

1) Absolutely. Make sure all the wires are reconnected to the tach. This feeds the distributor and the car won't run without a complete connection. You can check by seeing if you have 12v at the dist

I read this on Skye's website. I just can't figure out why it started and ran several times after taking the tach out and not doing anything with the wires. Monte Seems I've read that disconnecting
