I assumed Zach meant that the fuel pump didn't burst into life until he started cranking. This could be caused by poor connections from the jump leads, which got better with the vibration of the cran

I had the same problem last week - and numerous denizens on the list suggested possible causes - the concensus was battery rather than alternator - everything from bad connections to lack of electrol
