Forgive my ingorance..There is a tapped fitting in the smog head on my new 1275, just back of the thermostat and down on the side, facing the passenger side. It looks 1/2" NPT...it's gotta go into th

It sounds like the hole for the temp sending unit. If you have an early car that had it in the radiator, you'll have to plug one of the holes. I think they work better in the head.
