Yesterday I notices that the oil pressure gauge would fluctuate quickly at times, I generally noticed it at idle. Anything to worry about? Is it a symptom of something else? -- John Steczkowski Direc

It's definately something to look into right away. If your pressure is low or the oil's not circulating well, you're asking for major engine damage. Could be the pump, a leak in the system (ha! now t

What level is your oil when checking with the dip stick?......I had just=20 this problem recently when I neglected to check the oil levels after a lon= g=20 continental tour. The needle would move t

pump... hard to check, could be, I was also thinking... Is there an oil pressure relief valve? Maybe that mechanism is going. Luckily, the oil pressure (according the potentially faulty gauge) stays

it a when you say quickly, I presume that you are saying +/- 2 psi with the needle moving a couple times a second? This would be quite normal, I've had a couple of LBC's which have all done this fro

I had that problem a while back, but only at a point as the oil was approaching operating temperature. It never fluctuated into the low pressure zone. This rapid fluctuation went away when the engine

I'd say more like +/- 20 psi, maybe twice/second. It does seem to be at only certain rpms Hmmmm maybe I'm worried about nothing, with the work I've done, the pressure stays above about 25psi....

John Twist writes that fluctuation of the oil gauge at certain rpms is a function of a harmonic of the pressure relief valve and is nothing to worry about if you have no other bad indications. PaulH.
