This is getting to be more of a challenge than what I'd like. I have what appears to be a loose front bearing. I recently switched out the front hubs and stub axles during a change from wire to steel

Thanks for the input. You may be correct since the hub is loose on either side, though that argues equally that the new bearing set was damaged somehow by the driver side stub axle. One way to test

In or out; measure the depth in the hub after you install it. See if it moved afterward. Are you sure you got the race all the way in against the shoulder? No crud under it? How about the inner race?
