Hi Listers, I took the 260 mile drive to Las Cruces, New Mexico for the British Car Days event last weekend in my 72 MGB with overdrive. Traveling on I-10 at 3200 rpm, doing about 70 mph, my oil pres

IMHO, the Restore would not affect your oil pressure (and it is the one additive I've found to be beneficial!). However, you did not say what weight oil you put in your engine. Anything less than 20-

It's a little on the low side. Workshop Manual quotes between 15 and 25 for hot idle and between 50 and 80 running. Mine runs at 60 and normally idles at 40, although it will drop to 25 if stuck in t

That is low, if the reading is accurate (not a given), but not so significantly low to worry about as an emergency situation. You didn't say how many miles are on the car now. If it's up around 80-90

If the gauge is correct, which you might want to confirm with another gauge, and that you are using 20-50 oil, the pressure is low. Consider replacing the connecting rod big-end bearings, something

Dropping to less than zero, like the fuel gauge, does indicate an electrical problem, either loss of the 'stabilised' voltage to the gauge or more likely loss of the ground signal from the sender. *B
