Sorry, do not know the gauge. But, I've found that scrap body panels from other British cars of the same vintage work best. That way the metal is likely compatable for content as well as thickness.

Ty, I am currently using 20 guage on my MKIII Sprite. It's a good match. For spots that require real tight bends (small patches) I've been using 22 gauge. It is all available at the hardware store. J
