I'm a bit confused. Bit??? I removed the old radio from a '76B and found 5 connecting wires (ignoring the antenna). 4 of the wires went to speakers and the other was presumably the voltage in to the

Two power wires: 1) Switched through ignition, turns "on" the radio. 2) Always "hot" so that the radio can "remember" your favorite stations. Your documentation should tell you which is which unless

Your old radio probably completed the power circuit through its mounting hardware (chassis ground). You will essentially be doing the same thing when you connect the negative wire of your new stereo

Just a guess... There are two power wires, one for switched power (connected to the key switch), the other connected to constant power to power the clock. There should also be a ground wire you atta

A lot of good answers, if the replacement radio is an older one, some of them had an additional lead for a power antenna. If it does not have a clock and require constant power for memory functions,

In older steros from the 70's and 80's, some of the lesser expensive models did ground all the speakers and voltage together. Some hade the red wire forkeyed voltage, then 3 other wires. two were pos

One "hot" is for the radio. the other " hot" is for the lights. It should come on with the interior lights, whether the radio is on or not. john.kahoon@juno.com 71 Midget On Tue, 19 Jan 1999 12:23:09
