Hello BCAH, there are indeed different kinds. in some there is some kind of weight as you suspected. they won't lock up unless they "sense" deceleration. you can sometimes get them to lock by SNAPPIN

Hi Bill, Yes, basically. If you weld a nut to the plate, you could enlarge the existing hole, flip the plate over so that the nut sits on the inside of the rocker, then weld the plate to the rocker.T
