Wow, if that is an aircon setup (I guess I see the compressor there as well) I am not sure how the poor old motor hauls it around :-) With that restriction to the radiator you wouldn't survive in Aus

The engine compartment of my MGTD is rather grimy and should be repainted. The easiest way to clean off the road grease, crud, etc. is by steam cleaning. Is there likely to be any detrimental effects

You may find that there are a lot more holes through the firewall than you now see, so removal of carpeting and the under-dash panel would be worth doing as steam and detergent would make a mess ins
