Has anyone done the alignment of the steering rack as mentioned in the manual (Bentley)? I moved my column and rack from my 71BGT to my 72B and it seemed like there were a couple of shims that fit be

The parts Ed has are rack shims, the shims are designed with tabs so that they can be installed from the side easily. There may have been two types of shims, a long one across both bolt holes to rai

Dumb question, same subject. Anyone had any luck getting one of the bigger chains (firestone/goodyear/midas/etc.) aligning the car? I need an alignment, and would rather pay for something like that m

Well, IIRC, the only alignment attribute that can be adjusted on an MGB is toe-in. So that doesn't leave a lot of latitude for auto-x tuning <g>. If you want negative camber I think you're looking at

Max is right. The only adjustment is toe in/out. The camber and castor can be changed, but only by modifications. The answer to your question TJ is, yes. I've never had a company say "no" to an align

I had the local Goodyear corporate owned store set my V8 up custom. It is an autocross car but is also my daily driver. I had them set the toe to .04" toe in. A lot of places won't touch MGBs, the st

FWIW, When I had my alignment done I had Energy Suspension bushings and Moss negative a-arms. The a-arms give me about 2deg negative camber at stock ride height. It works really well, but the inside

You can actually make small adjustments to the camber by fitting shims under the lever shocks. Cheers, Dave Ambrose

Interesting. I'm trying to visualize this. Do you have any idea how much shim would have to be placed under the shock to go 1/2 degree negative? Larry Hoy

Yeah, I'm looking at a diagram of the front suspension, and it looks to me as if for "small", you could read "microscopic"... but it does seem that shimming would contribute to negative camber (no pr

I'm going on a 30 year old memory here. . . They had "the old guy" do the alignment on my car. He was kind enough to let me watch what he was doing. I think he made a 1/2 degree camber change by fitt
