Classic (!) symptom of an intermittent connection in the ignition LT circuit, a break in this circuit will affect both running and the tach. Check the connections in the white - tach - white - coil -

I thought that might be the case (LT). I flipped the coil over last weekend (to the proper top down arrangement) and it seems to be acting up ever since. I'll ensure that the connection there is in o
