The vast majority of electrical problems are caused by poor connections. Namely the ground. Start at the battery and work you way out in each direction. Check all the connections, just don't look at

I still use the timing light that I built in about 70, works good. Must be because it's about the same year as my car. But, do you remember "Eico" kits, I still have a 6/12 volt power supply I built
