When I was in England I bought a VHS tape when I visited the Morgan factory. The chap there said it would play on my American machine but it will not. Is there any way to get it converted to the USA

Most larger cities have video production facilities that can convert the tapes (PAL to NTSC). Some are reasonable, some charge through the nose. Depending on where you live, I'd start with the yellow

I fear the chappie fibbed. England uses the PAL system exclusively, whereas the U.S. uses NTSC. It can be converted fairly easily IF you have both a PAL system (mine was made by AIWA) and a standard

"Is there any way...." Sure......look in your yellow pages under "audio/visual" and you should be able to find a service locally who can do this for you. Or visit your local Blockbusters or whatever.

If you are going to go the route of conversion, might I suggest that you have the tape transferred onto DVD. The cost is not much different, and you can then make all the VHS copies you will want in

Some VCR's are/were manufactured for particular markets and VHS tapes were made accordingly. Presumably to reduce coping tapes made or released in different markets. It sounds like you have a USA VCR
