- Did they break at the bend? Fretting corrosion and/or fatigue, maybe. Spokes have a finite life, which is shortened considerably if they're driven loose (the spokes, not the wheel) for any length of

- Front or rear? Front wheel spokes are subjected to a great deal of stress since they absorb the cornering forces during normal steering action. If they are Dunlop wheels, the spokes are chrome plated
