Try going up a steep hill when the gas is low. Although you can suck the fuel out with the car level, steep hills move the gas to the back of the tank and the car will sputter. My first thought was ,

What I do with pin holes on gas tanks is first was the tank out with Muritic acid then grind off the exterior where the holes are and fill them with JB Weld and with an electric sander on the exterio
