Anything with AHB is a special and is not listed in the fastener list decipher. They are a very funny size, just measured my originals again 7/16 x 1.7/16 long, I replaced them with 1. 1/2 long ones

I tried all sorts of things and finally discovered that if I simply tighten the nuts (with a spring washer underneath) to about 80-ft lbs of torque or more (i.e. hella-tight) they'll never come loos

What works for me is a grade 8 flatwasher under the bolt head on the shock side and a split lockwasher on the chassis side. A little threadlocker can't hurt, either. Bob -- Bob Spidell - San Jose, C

Actually the reason that these nuts get loose is that once they are loose, they wallow out the hole in the bracket, which allows movement, which causes looseness. Fix the brackets, and properly torqu

I had an FX4 (London Taxi) a few years ago. Old taxi drivers told me, that shock absorbers coming loose was a neverending problem on the cabs, much worst than on the Healey as the cab had more weight
