I have finally made the decision to start overhauling a gearbox... And I
wondered where I ought to buy the necessary parts(ball bearings, needle
bearings, thrustwashers, synchro rings, springs and balls)...

I have heard that I should NOT buy the syncho rings from Rimmer Bros, but
is there any particular triumph part supplier I can trust to deliver good
quality gearbox parts? I may need a few oversize thrustwashers, so a
certain amount of selection must be available....

And, for those of you who already undertook the gearbox overhaul job, is
there anything I need to keep in mind or pay special attention to when I do
this job? Is it standard practice to change the layshaft, for instance?
And, I think I noticed at one point that Witor delivers special first
gears, taking two needle bearings instead of the standard single one since
the first gear end of the thing is the weaker end...

So, does anyone have any useful info about overhauling gearboxes?
