Bob---I found long ago that I must be too clumsy to put these pins back
into the handle boss, even with long nosed pliers. Some owners make a
"C" shaped tool out of a piece of 2" diam. PVC pipe, about 3/8" thick,
to insert between the door panel and the escutcheon. This will hold the
two apart, and free up the hands. I have another gimmick. I take a piece
of 1/8" round steel stock, about 6 inches long, and nearly saw thru it,
every half inch along it's length. Now I can see when the pin hole lines
up with the hole in the handle shaft, and can feed this 6" length of
"pin" far enough into it. When I get it in about 1/2" I merely snap it
off at the pre-cut. Viola! (Save the 5 1/2" remnant for the next time
you have to do this. It'll be easier.
