Marc---To test whether the clutch hydraulics is doing it's job, take a
linear measurement at the Slave Cylinder  pushrod. If this rod comes out
of the SC 1/2 inch, or more, this should rotate the clutch operating
shaft enough for the fork  to separate the pressure plate from the disc.
If the SC rod has less movement than that, you'll need to backtrack to
see where the volume of fluid is lost.  I would think that if there's
something internal going on in the clutch assembly to keep it from
disengaging, there would be no resistance to depressing the clutch
pedal.
