I rented a U-Haul dolly to get my TR-250 from Schenectady, NY to Evanston,
IL and had no problem. I don't believe the differential is a potential
problem. It's the transmission. For long tow trips you need to remove the
drive shaft to keep various bits of the transmission from spinning without
any lubrication.
