Kraig, sorry to hear about the break-in.

LA prices being like SF,
I would assume about $500 total. I did my top last year, $250 for the top
from Moss and $250 Labor.

Walked down to the car this morning, and got the shock of my life-my beloved
TR6 had been broken into! I live in an apartment complex, and have secured
(or I thought) underground parking, and the whole complex is gated.

What irritated me the most was the fact that the top (almost new) had been
slashed on the passenger side, in addition to the rivets being torn out
along
the back, under the (zipped) rear window. I always park the car with the
doors UNLOCKED to avoid this circumstance, but I suppose vandals these days
don't expect anyone to ever leave their doors unlocked. They even put a
screwdriver in the gap along the glovebox door, abnd pried that open (it was
also unlocked). They took some CDs (I just installed a new stereo), my
prescription sunglasses, my snappy Triumph cap, and my disabled parking
placard. As I have a removeable face stereo, that was untouched.

I hadn't yet applied for my classic insurance (the papers were literally in
my hand when I discovered the crime), and my regular policy has a $1000
deductible (hey, I live in LA where this stuff is expensive!!).

So, what's a new soft top, installed, with a zipped rear window, going to
cost me?

Sadder, but wiser,

Kraig Griffiths
