Wayne,

Go for it! I was in the same boat as you last winter. I have moderate
mechanical aptitude and had never gone further than pulling the cylinder
head off of my (Triumph) motorcycle.

The 6 Pack and Triumph list are excellent resources. As Jim says you will
need the Bentley manual. Also, the Roger Williams book "How to Restore Your
TR6" has a very good writeup on rebuild. He gives information that is not in
the shop manual.
