I rebuilt my engine 3 years ago with Moss lifters & have been plagued by
a silver metallic paste at every oil change collecting on the magnetic
drain plug. After dropping the oil pan several times for various reasons
& examining the cam from below I have not seen any unusual wear on the
lobes. In trying to determine what the source of the mystery paste I
have suspected the lifters but have not removed any to look. This fall I
am rebuilding the motor again for this & other power enhancement reasons
& I will probably discover a set of very worn lifters.
I wonder if we have any recourse for at least the parts?
