TR6 Ignition

My ignition switch on my 73 TR6 came apart yesterday. This is the type that
resembles a one-inch long cylinder with six electrical connections on the
back. It pushes into the back of the ignition key port.  I took the switch
apart, cleaned and reassembled it but not sure I have a small ball bearing
in the right spot. The switch works, but I can't remove the key without
pulling the back off the switch.  Any advice before I order a new part??
