        Folks:

My wheels were looking pretty tired, and were pretty rusty on
the back.
I decided to get them powder coated, since paint seems to come off the
first
time the wheel gets put on the tire changing machine.
I sent my wheels off to the local power coater, and asked that
they be
color matched to the original factory color (what was left of it). Well
they sand blasted the wheels BEFORE they did the color match, and now
have
no idea what color to make them. Doh!
So my question to all of you: Did any of you try to color match
the wheels to the original color and finish? What was the color you
used?
It seems to me that they were originally a matte finish silver,
but my wheels were so old I suppose they might have started out
semi-gloss
or perhaps even a gloss finish.
My powder coater tells me they carry Cardinal, Tiger Drylac, and
DuPont
brand powders. Can someone out there give me a name or a number for a
close
match to the original wheel color?
The powder coaters are a considerable distance away, and I would
like to
save a trip over there during my work hours. I would need to take a
couple
hours off just to look at some color chips, and since it was their
mistake
I am not feeling very charitable at the moment....

        Thanks,

        Vance
