75-76 rear bumper

When taking off the rear rubber bumperettes on the 75-76 bumper what have
those of you who have done this,  used as spacers; since the bracket that
holds them is also the spacer.

I was told that the mgb bumper studs ar good for filling the empty holes on
the front bumper.  Any other sugestions.
