Hi Don,

I think it's a good idea.  I hate where that switch is located. That's my plan 
for the '71 that I plan on modifying soon.

I would save the old hardware for a future owner that is concerned about 
originality.  Should only be a matter of extending the wires to the new 
location.  I would use soldered connections and heat shrink tube if the wires 
need to be extended.
