If there is interest, I am willing to organize another Gunst bearing
purchase.

The main leverage of a group purchase is in reducing the shipping cost.
Shipping one bearing was about $30.00. Shipping 17 bearings brought the
shipping unit cost down to about $5.00.

I would have to get the latest prices from Joachim Gunst, but my guess
would be that the unit cost in a group purchase is $110 - $115 shipping
included. A lot depends on the exchange rates. The USD is not so good
these days

Joachim recommends against the B&B with bent fingers. He maintains that
it can squeal in some installations. He told me he has idea why it
sometimes squeals and he agrees with Dick Taylor and Nelson that it
should not. But his observation was that it sometimes did.

Just as Dick Taylor explained, Gunst most definitely recommends/requires
that the preload spring be used and the bearing remain in constant
contact with the fingers. In fact he increased the preload spring
tension on recommendations of the bearing manufacturer.
