Lots of different senarios here.  Is it a show car or a driver?

 If a show car:  Buy the new radiator.

If a driver: First thing I would do is consult a second radiator specialist.

If it is leaking, (rather than really pouring out), I would try a dose of
radiator stop leak, a powder you pour into the full radiator, then you run
it, and it seals leaks.   I think SolderSeal is one brand.  I have used it
on several cars and trucks and never had a poor cooling condition after use.

If the radiator is shot, I would take a calculated risk on a used radiator
from a reputable wrecker.
