        Jerry:

While a wiring problem is possible, the most likely explanation
is that your alternator is on the fritz. Take your alternator to an
automotive electric shop (look in the yellow pages). Testing is normally
done at no charge (hah, hah - I said "no charge". I crack me up.)
I suspect you have lost a diode in your alternator. If it checks
out OK, then you have a wiring problem and will need to dig out your
voltmeter.

        Cheers,

        Vance

I have a 1971 TR6 that the ignition idiot light stays on all the time. I
thought that the problem might be the ammeter (that was not working), so
I
replaced it. The ammeter works great, but the light stays on all the
time! It
is dimmer at idle and gets brighter as the rev's get higher. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,

Jerry
