Mitch:
As you know, I have both conversions on my TR250. I do not have the locking
collar from the HVDA conversion installed on my drive shaft. It has about
1/2" of float in it. With your diff, you'll probably have about 1" of
float. I'm not sure why Herman uses the locking collar since the original
stock driveshaft didn't have one. My vote is you're fine without it.

Subject: GoodParts Diff upgrade

Hi All,

I'm in the middle of the Goodparts diff replacement & am having trouble
with the driveshaft. Richard says that when used with the Toyota trans
the drive shaft does not have to be shortened. In the toyota trans the
driveshaft is supposed to be locked in the fully extended position.
My question is , do I have to adjust the driveshaft slightly shorter to
adjust for the longer diff , because I can't seem to clear the drive
shaft flange .

Thanks
