        John:

I used the Moss kits for my seats (purchased during a 20% off
sale), and everything was fine. I liked the fact that the moss kit had
the correctly patterned vinyl for the covers. My one complaint about the
1974-1/2 Moss kit is that it does not include the headrest foams
(although it contains new headrest covers - go figure). It was no big
deal in the end, I just bought a small piece of flat foam, and cut it to
size and wrapped it over the frame in an inverted "U" shape, gluing it
into place. With the cover over it, it looks perfect. The diaphragms and
webbing kits worked great, too.
I stripped my frames and painted them, then used the
instructions from the Buckeye web site. Piece of cake, and very
satisfying results.

If your headrest was mangled by your DPO, you will need to buy a
whole headrest. You can get one used from www.britishautoworks.com,
email@britishautoworks.com. NFI, etc. If that is the only thing your DPO
knackered, count yourself fortunate indeed.

Everyone,

I'll be rebuilding my seats (installing new seat covers, new rubber
diaphragm, etc.) this summer and want to replace the
foam in both seats. I'm pricing kits from the various vendors and was
just wanting to check to see if people had
feelings as to who offers the best stuff at the best price. It seems
like everyone is charging around the $250 or so
price mark right now. To me it would seem that foam is foam and there
wouldn't be any differences between the different
vendors, but thought that maybe people might have found that one vendor
supplies foam that in terms of fit is better.

Second, I need to replace the head restraint bracket on my passenger
side. It looks like some DPO tried to pull the
restraint up and out of the seat using channel lock pliers or something
that bit into the metal on the "shaft" of the
head restraint bracket (either that or someone was really hungry). I
found a part number in the TRF spare parts
catalog, but can't seem to pull it up on their website (all I can get
are the complete assemblies with the foam and
vinyl, which I don't need). And I can't seem to find them in either
Moss or VB. Anyone know of a source for this?
