The starter motor hump is the correct location for the later
years (74 and later?).

Gentlemen: Thanks for your assistance, with regard to my recent
question on
TR-6 gearbox serial numbers. The D16A75 gearbox, does indeed have a CC
serial number (113379) which was hidden under the crud on the starter
hump.
Based on other input, the 75 in the serial number appears to be the year
of
manufacture. I still don't know why the CC number was placed on the
starter hump, and not in the usual place ?
