Cary---I use a Zerk fitting with (1/8 inch NPT?) what looks like a 30
deg. load angle. It allows my grease gun to get down between the
surrounding hardware. If you want to leave the Zerk in place, rather
than the original plug, you'll have to build it up with some combo of
spring washers to get the horn ground connection snug.
The tapered threads for the Zerk don't exactly match the original plug,
but a close enough fit to lube the rack.

I am looking for a zerk fitting for my steering rack, but I need to know
what the thread is. Is it 1/4-28 or 5/16-24. Also, is it straight or
tapered?
Thanks,
Cary Henry
