Hi List,

These pictures are of what the inside of a (cheap!) brake light switch looks
like after two years of limited use. The contacts get corroded and make a high
resistance path for the brake light current to pass through. Then when you
disturb your pedal box and you don't realize your brake lights are on
constantly, the switch gets hot and stops working all together. It doesn't look
like it actually got THAT hot, but it did stop working. *shrug*

Then when you're on a test drive, and your brake lights aren't working the guy
behind you that nearly rear-ended you can swear, and kindly inform you that
your brake lights are no longer functioning.
